The Eddy: a Netflix series 100% shot in the Paris region

Wednesday 13 May 2020

The EDDYDamien Chazelle, Oscar-winning director in 2016 for his musical La la Land, shot a series for Netflix in the Paris region.  Our teams accompanied the French team, Atlantique Productions, in its search for locations. At the origin of this project are four music lovers: music producer Glenn Ballard, Alan Pool, producer of Six Feet Under, Damien Chazelle on the direction and Jack Thorne (This Is England) on the script.

The American production Endeavor Content wanted to give a very realistic tone to the series. It relied on Atlantic Productions to provide the French touch it seeks.  True executive producers, Olivier Bibas and Jimmy Desmarais called on actors Tahar Rahim and Leila Beckthi for the casting and French directors Houda Benyamina and Laïla Marrakchi to direct certain episodes. Nicolas Ploux, general manager for Atlantic Productions entrusted Stéphanie Perret and Virginie Marchesseau with location scouting.

- In the 12th arrondissement of Paris, near Daumesnil, several locations were reconstructed, including the club The Eddy, a bar-tabac and a restaurant - Kebab.  A warehouse has also been reconstructed at Studio Abel 14.
