FOCUS | Animation in the Paris region

From October 14 to 31, AFCA (the french association of animated cinema) organizes the 19th edition of the Fête du cinéma d'animation. This event broadcasts new and classic animated films in about sixty locations in the Paris region (cinemas, media libraries, cultural centers ...) and offers meetings with professionals, workshops, exhibitions, film concerts ...

2 films supported by the Paris Region are also released in October on French screens:  Calamity, a childhood of Martha Jane Cannary, from Remi Chayé and Petit Vampire by Joann Sfar :

Every year, the Paris Region devotes nearly 5.4 million euros to the animation sector. Since 2016, it has supported 20 projects, including 12 feature films. This busy month of October is an opportunity to look back at some key figures for the sector in the Paris Region:

of the biggest animation producers (Method animation, Xilam, Technicolor, ZagToon...) are from the Paris region, representing 43% of the total production volume in France.

people are involved in the creation of these audiovisual and cinematographic projects in the Paris region. 41% are executives, ensuring a high level of expertise and skills.
