The PARTnership between
the CINEFONDATION and the
ILE-DE-FRANCE FILM COMMISSION
Established in 1998 by the Cannes Film Festival, the Cinéfondation supports cinematographic creations in the whole world and prepares for the handover to the new generation of cinema producers and directors. In 2000, it was inaugurated in Paris at the Festival's Residence which each year hosts two sessions of six promising directors who are working on their first or second feature film.
The Ile-de-France Film Commission also works to facilitate filing in the region and to promote its technical and artistic resources.
It is in this framework that the Ile-de-France Film Commission and Cinéfondation decided to implement a partnership so as to facilitate access to cultural sites in Ile-de-France for directors and scriptwriters in the Residence.
The Ile-de-France also seeks to assist the imagination of these artists and to become a dramatic source of inspiration so as these authors decide to focus their film project in the region.
Since the implementation of this partnership, no fewer than seventy young directors have been supported by the Commission during their residence.
