L'Association des Producteurs de Cinéma (APC)

APC is a major film producers’ guild in France. Established in April 2007 from the original membership of the Chambre Syndicale des Producteurs de Films (an organization dating from 1945 whose founding fathers created the Cannes Film Festival, The Cannes Movie Market, UNIFRANCE…). It brings together 120 of the most dynamic and prestigious production companies of the French film industry.

APC is a key partner to all the other guilds (writers, directors, actors, crew, distributors, exhibitors…) in the motion picture industry as well as to the CNC and local & regional funding entities.

APC is governed by a board of 40 members who meet every 3 weeks. Several committees also meet regularly to discuss the issues confronting the film industry today.

P2P - Producer to Producteur

On november 2010, APC has launched a new cooperative program named "P2P" (ProducertoProducteur) which is aimed at developing exchanges of views and production experiences through filmed interviews between an American and a French producers.

For the first edition Partizan’s M. Georges Bermann interviews Scottfree’s Mr. Tony Scott about producing American Style as his two films "Unstoppable" and "Welcome to the Rileys" just released in France. This interview can be watched on the video on the right.

The American & International Desk

The American & International Desk (A&I Desk) has been created within APC in July 2009. It was conceived in relation with the passing of the first French Tax Rebate for International Production (TRIP).

This Desk is designed to team foreign producers together with internationally experienced and well recognized producers in France and shepherd them through the process. The A&I Desk aims at welcoming and supporting foreign productions shooting in France and looking to benefit from the tax rebate, and bring them key partners in the person of APC members.

Broadly speaking, the A&I Desk intend to promote and facilitate business cooperation of any kind between foreign and French producers (international coproductions…).
